It's a passive reward for those trying to do set activities, noone is expecting you to play for 72h to win a reward..... especially not every weekend.

It's a fun bonus if that's your goal for the weekend and the event lines up with your grind or activities.

As mentioned these are just one event set for each week to get people doing different activities and for those who want to grind, it's a small reasonable reward and it won't be changed for the above mentioned events.
