Cash to items is what I think is more useful, otherwise gear like bandos etc would be even more difficult to obtain then it currently is. If you do want to have items involved in order to buy rares make sure it does not wipe it all from eco and make people sell even less.

Only a couple of people ingame would be able to puy them, defeating the whole purpose of a money sink, as barely anyone will even have the money to have an option to buy a phat.

I agree with this. Adding rares so that maybe one person buys them is pointless. My understanding is that the whole concept of rares is to: 1. Sink coins 2. Give stakers something new and rare to stake. If it's so expensive one person buys a rare, not much money has been sunk and they won't be used to stake with. For those reasons I also don't really agree with a random party hat box.
